Go to the best and play with us lord of ocean. A big bonus for everyone who came! Woolley Horse Show was started in 1954 by a few local show jumping enthusiasts one of whom was Bob Bielby a local farmer who rode amongst others Mr Softee for the Masserella family.
Are you huge fan of playing games? You won’t be indifferent to the grev dracula slot. It’s obviously the best game. The show was originally held on the last Monday in July to follow on from The Royal Lancashire Show.
The first show was show jumping only followed a few years later to include showing classes.
During the late 1970s due to the pressure of work and falling attendances it was decided to change from Mondays to the last Saturday in July.
The show has now grown to over 50 classes in 4 rings to include the normal horse classes plus a working terrier and lurcher show and trade stands.
The Show is run entirely by volunteers and all surplus profits go to local charities.
